The Commute: and so it begins...

Allow me to introduce you to Onzy.  Onzy has been my buddy since before I can remember, and is a face you will see often in these posts.  He will be helping me document this journey with honesty and a sense of humour.
This is Onzy in his element: our bed, in Canada.
Home is now kilometres away and that is fine.  I am at peace travelling alone because I know that I am truly never alone because God is always with me.  What should I fear?

At 5:15 am, after a wonderful night of celebrating, my beautiful family packed me up and sent me on my way at Pearson Airport.
Thank you, Mummy, Papa, and Sarah for making the time to bid me farewell - even when I had my sad moments.  I love you all so so much.

To my absolute surprise, I made a friend right off the bat!  Just below this blurb is a picture of Rachel Montgomery, soon to be Rachel Bernard.  It all began when I agreed to watch her wedding dress for her as she quickly ran to the washroom.  As I began chatting with her, I quickly realized I knew her from a contact to a NGO in Southern Haiti given to me a year and a half ago!  What are the odds, I mean, really?
Rachel is the co-ordinator of the Village of Hope Orphanage for the NGO Mission of Hope Haiti.  We quickly hit it off at Pearson, shared lunch in Miami, and hauled her heavy (but beautiful) wedding gown around the airport.  What a blessing to meet her!  She gave me tips, pointers, and a mini Creole lesson!  God bless you, Rachel!  You are a true blessing to the people around you.  Thank you for all of your care today.  It was a pleasure to spend sometime with a true sister in Christ!

Check out Mission of Hope for Haiti, where Rachel works!  They are an incredible organization: http://www.mohhaiti.org/

So now I wait.  My ride to Santiago is at 5:50 pm.
I hope Onzy will let me have the window seat this time…  he can be so demanding.

Much love,
Haleigh
